- Impossible to tell if you owned the stock if you made money, because I dont know what price you would have paid, but the numbers you posted means this. Everytime someone trades the stock, is post at what the last trade was Volume is how many shares have traded for that day up until that point $ Change means its up 12 cents since the day befores close The percentage change is how many percent it went up since yesterdays close.
- it means the stock was traded at 27.87 and change they got back was .12 cents and the other part i dont know and the volume is the volume the stocks go up or down. and heres a site where you can learn terms www.investorwords.com
- OK. Last trade-- this is the price at which shares of the stock were most recently sold by somebody to somebody else. While the price of stocks fluctuate constantly, this is approximately how much you'd pay if you bought the stock. Volume--number of shares that were traded during the day. $ Change: the change in the price of the stock since yesterday's close. % change: the % by which the company's stock price has changed since yesterday. (ie 12 cents was 0.43% of the company's stock price at the close yesterday.) And you were staring at Microsoft before you asked this question... If you have any other questions send 'em along.
- 100 shares would mean $12 which might pay your commission to buy - might. Don't need to learn how market works to invest. No knowledge to buy ADX PEO EFA EWa IAu and otherwise build a portfolio. Invest - don't speculate
- try www.nystockexc.com
- I want you to go to investopedia.com ---totally free and it has a lot of information for new investors and even has a stock simulation game.
