  3. Pull out the business section of your newspaper, with all the stock listings. Attach it to the wall. Throw three darts. Invest in those three companies. Or, you can just go to a casino.
  4. Quit your day job and become a junkie for investment news on the internet. Become a day trader and cross your fingers. Pray that you succeed in making a profit and that nobody comes after your assets. Seriously, setting out a "expected return" on investments in the stock market is a losing game. It's better to lay out a specific amount of money that you can invest each month and then leave things in for the long term. Invest in mutual funds, esp index funds, and large multi-industry companies that won't suffer if one of their interests flags. There are many approaches to investment that work, in the long run. Ones that work in the short run are rare -- and usually only work with specific market conditions that can't be accurately predicted until after the fact. Although, I should state that if you're planning on investing $2000 per month, $50 isn't an unreasnable return for the short term; but will that even cover the costs of making the purchase and sale of the stocks? I admit I'm not a broker, so take this with a grain of salt... but unless you want to go crazy and follow the market constently, long term investing is a much safer approach.
  5. With 200 stocks, if the stock goes up half a point, you made 100 bucks. minus some commision, makes anywhere from 20-80 bucks total profit. With stocks priced about 23 dollars thats only about 5k. Not too hard if you've got a month to sit.
  6. well..its a risk if you wanna take..Buy shares in a risky portfolio and hedge it with buying options. The degree of your risk and market forces will determine whether you made a profit or loss for that day. just in case if your wondering. It'll need an investing of atleast $5000+ to start off with.
