what is the fastest or best way to make money in the Stock market?

I have $5000 to work with and I want to know what experienced traders would do, or if you have a tip on which stock has a potential to go up in the next couple of weeks. Thank You in advance

1. very high risk (like gambling) if you try to make quick gains in stock market - you could eventually lose all your investment - stock market is for long term investing
2. you don't want stock tips from people you do not know. An experienced trader would diversify his investment in small and large caps and risk some in riskier stocks but only ones he did the research on. There is a little trick you can use. Find the mutual funds that are doing well and see what they invest in, they have done the research. but unfortunatly there is no guarentee.

6. the fastest and best way to make money in the stock market is to take your money and put it in a sock and hide it under your mattress!!!!!. i lost $40,000 in the stock market and i had the biggest part of my money with a very well known drug manufacturing company (pfizer) and they really took me to the cleaners i also had some with microsoft and will never put money in the stock market again. if you can't afford to be a player don't play. it is not a place for small investors to gamble.
