  1. Yes, it did. People are stupid if they think putting their money into "funny money" which the paper is worth more, will make them rich.
  2. I can tell you when/if our stock market will crash now. If a Democrat gets elected government they have all promised to raise taxes on the sale of stocks. If this happens a few days a lot of people will sell because they would rather pay 15% tax on their sales, then the 40% it will be under a Democrat. Please look into the Democratic contenders promises, you will be shocked when you pay attention to all of the rhetoric.
  3. We tend to measure drops from peaks: a new height is not indicative of an economically meaningful drop. The current issue with mortgages has nothing to do with people using that money to invest in the stock market. Many economic valuations would indicate that the stock market is underpriced. The federal reserve has managed financial pressures extremely well over the last 20 years. Even if the market dropped, it is less likely to cause financial crisis. Finally, Presidents rarely have a major effect on macro economic performance although the current president is doing his very best to make the our situation difficult.
