The decomposition of culture, declination of morale, addictive to drugs, horse racing, stocks, why not pension

Hong Kong citizens are appeared as sort of decomposition of culture, declined moral standards, don't give a damn to each other, extremely sharp about gambling in horse racing and stock markets, greed and unconcerned. Why don't they think about their future safety net of Hong Kong pension, say at least five thousand HK per month. They are dick heads and continue to seek the winning of a lottory ticket, a triple triactor, a surge on stock markets. It is not practical! Only pension can provide them a sahety net for the rest of their life. Should Hong Kong citizens deserve a pension fund?

  1. People just want to have fun. Reminds me of a song by Cindi Lauper. Stop making blanket assumptions, you set yourself up for alot of dissapointment that way. Take a deep breath, relax.
  2. They to busy enjoying life to care about the future just like most young people.

  4. Hong Kong is the product of the admixture of Chinese culture with an Anglo-American capitalist ethos. Accordingly, individual profit rather than advancement of a collective "family" business is one of the prime HK values. However, the Chinese culture as a whole puts great store in the concept of luck, and as a group the Chinese are the most inveterate and committed gamblers in the world. What you perceive is the result - HK Chinese are individualistic, unlike typical Han or Hakka, but are mad about gambling, just like Chinese anywhere. Whereas the usual "family business" Chinese are held in check by their womenfolk, and do not put all they have into the latest gamble, HK Chinese are often not so restrained because a lot of them do not have a higher loyalty to a family. Furthermore, as emigrants from the PRC come, as individuals, they too are freed of the constraints of family well-being that still control many rural and traditional Chinese. In HK, anything goes, there is no past, and there may be no future, so they live today for the most.
