Can I invest in US stock market from Outside USA ? and How ?

- you cant do it
- Actually I'm doing it myself. You need to find a broker that accept foreign accounts. Etrade does, Scott trades doesn't, Ameritrade did, but I'm not sure if it does today. You will need to fill a W8-BEN form in order to avoid paying taxes in US (with this form you are declaring that you are paying taxes in your country, is not that you won't pay any tax, it is just to avoid paying taxes twice, since that is illegal).
- yes you can you just have to get a brokerage account and buy us stocks. call a financial company they can help you.. I work for an investment firm and we have several clients that live outside the U.S.
- you need to setup a bank account first. wire some money to an online brokerage like ameritrade or etrade. you can start buying stocks that way. the best thing is that you don't have to pay any capital gain tax as a foreigner.
- Hi, You absolutely can. I have overseas investments including US stock and I reside outside the USA. Start with the Yellow Pages or Internet phone directory and place calls or send emails to brokers in your local area. You need to ask them whether they can purchase stock in the USA on your behalf. It does take a few days longer than purchasing or selling stock in your own country and it might cost a little more, but if the stock is good it's absolutely worth it. I invested $100,000 US on the Nasdaq and it cost about $500 US in fees to set up the account and make the purchase - that's just a guide. Also you will need to complete a certificate for the US tax department declaring that you are a non-US citizen. This way you will not be required to pay any US taxes on your earnings. We trust this is helpful. Warmly, Slav
- hi, here is the solution. i did it a few months ago and i live outside the usa. 1) open a brokerage account at etrade.com. its very easy, you will need to fill out 2 paper forms: 1 basic form and 1 tax form - include a copy of your passport and mail this paperwork in an envelope to etrade pobox address in the website. they will open this account in one week and mail you your welcoming package with all the info to start login in and trading. the next stpe is to wire some money into your brokerage account and start buying stocks from your account. to open the etrade account you will need the forms. download from the etrade.com website. As a non us resident select the: "e-trade complete investment account". here is the pdf link to the application form: https://content.etrade.com/etrade/estation/pdf/Brokerage_account_kit.pdf - also download the: W-8BEN Certificate of Foreign Status you can find all forms here: - https://us.etrade.com/e/t/prospectestation/pricing?id=1201010000
- 1) Yes. 2) Open a brokerage account at Zecco.
- There are several brokers and other institutions/companies that you can open an account with. Several of them don't charge anything for setting up the account. Than you can transfer your funds to them and you can start trading with the trading platforms offered by them. As I don't know where you live I cannot tell you which suits you the best or give you tips, but feel free to contact me with any question that might arise.
