Stock Markets Exposed

In case of a US stock market crash?

I'm curios as to the worst possible thing that can happen to the US and world economy in case of a stock market crash similar to what set off the Great Depression of the 1930's. What countries (if at all) will be affected, and what are the signs that such an event is about to happen? Also, if someone has links or graphs of the Market trends from before the Depression to date (preferably), please post or link to them. Thanks.

  1. Market crashes and slower economic growth around the world. China and other countries that export into US will suffer the most, but everybody else will feel it too since they have investments in US.
  2. There are 3 reasons as to why the depression in the 30's happened: historical factors, central bank policies, and political decision making. Having said that, it's very unlikely something like that will happen again. Bank policies have changed since then, so that something like that can never happen again. Banks are careful with their money and will never go out of business. Politicians are smarter now than they were then. They won't make any stupid mistakes about their decisions. If any countries were affected by such an event, they would be Japan, China and some parts of Europe. The first thing that would happen is you'd hear about it on CNN. LOL
