Scottrade is "OK" for a newbie... not great support. Schwab & Fidelity have the people & 24 hour service. Much better for the new trader. The tools on Scottrade are fair (not great, not terrible). Four biggest, typical mistakes of new traders; Taking stock tips from anyone (strangers, TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, Web Sites). Not have an exit plan, before making the trade.
