Is the US stock market plunge a conspirancy? Is the plunge a ploy to keep people working instead of retiring?
If the nest egg is gone then people have to keep working. The US population is getting older and there may not be enough younger workers to keep the country humming.

- You're right. The government went undercover and rigged the stock market so that they could peel off all the weak companies, get millions of people laid off, and have our country dissolve in the longest recession since the 1950s to stimulate the economy and to improve our unemployment rate. ... Sarcasm intended. I hate conspiracy theories.
- Faulted logic. Far too many people I know are facing age discrimination and have been laided off due to age when the man thinks they can hire younger for less. Mean while the older workers are having trouble finding any work in their field, due to this same age discrimination problem. Therefore the way I see it the system does not want older people to keep their jobs. If they have to keep working and they take work at a lower new wage the Social Security will cap and the system does not have to pay them as much when they do retire. Meanwhile the younger workers all have that same old problem - how to get a job without experience even if they have an education? There is no conspiracy - the system is just screwed.
- Uh....no
