Stock Markets Exposed

Make money short-term in the stock market?

I am really in the need of money. I just got laid off and have very little money in the savings. I do not have too much debt, but a little. I want to know what I can do to make a little extra money in the stock market every month and perhaps some good stocks to invest in. I think I have already made a mistake investing in Citigroup.

  1. I hate to be pessimistic, but the short term outlook is horrible. I'm sorry about the situation and wish you luck.
  2. the only hope if you wanna do that is by day trading, most of those people lose their butt.
  3. I normally would say that you should short a stock which means that you would just be sying that the stock will go down. That though I think has been virtually erased as it is half the reason the economy went down.
  4. Short term trading is the hardest kind. It is no place to learn. Sorry.
  5. these guys are right. you're better off not trying to short term right now. I guess If i had to do it i'd just look for something that went drastically down in one day and buy at the end of hte day or the start of the next day and hope for a bounce. alot of times there is.
  6. Nope, nope, nope. I remember a cousin that took me to see the ships at the docks of the harbor town he lived in. We were standing there watching and some guys hollered at us from some junky old cruise ship. He suggested that we pool our cash, play a few hands of poker, buy a ticket on the boat and go to Mexico for some real fun. Of course he was thinking of getting some fresh cash off some nieve kids and get a good laugh out of it. What you are talking about is no different than sinking it in lottery tickets or visiting some casino. Sorry, you seem to be wanting to gamble your way out and want strangers to tell you on which horses to bet on. Please, salvage what you can from the brokerage account and spend it trying to find another job. Then when you've got steady work and have some extra cash laying around, then think about stocks. But what you are doing is not an "investment". It is a desperate hope with horrible odds of success when you don't know what you are doing. Sorry.
