I want to buy stock online, which company should I go with?
I am looking to buy stock online. I probably won't invest a large amount of money. I'd like to go through a company that has low trading fees. I don't plan on doing a lot of trades. I am planning to invest primarily in US stock, but I am also interested in Australian stock. Does anyone have any experience with investing online? Are there any companies that are better than the others?

- I use a broker called thinkorswim. They are considered one of the best. Thinkorswim (TOS) has a very unique kind of culture in the company. They have a philosophy of trying to help the small investor. However, many professionals also use TOS, and most of the people who use TOS are pretty serious about investing. If you think of the image that Apple computer has, and then transfer that to TOS, that's kind of the feel, and culture of the community of people at TOS. They have some of the lowest fees in the business, however their fee rate is going to be changing in the future. I'm sure it will remain very competitive. Their software is considered one of the best trading platforms in the business, and they are considered the be an industry leader in investment education. The tools that are included within their software for no extra charge are comparable to what professional investment firms use. You can open an account without much money and use their "Paper Money" software to practice trading. TOS traders have started a site in yahoo that you can find at this address: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/shadowtraderchat/
- there are several choices, scott, sogo, first, and Charles. I suggest going sogo, since their transaction fee is the lowest among those online brokers. ($3/Transaction) http://www.sogotrade.com
