Stock Markets Exposed

How does the value of the pound sterling change?

i dont understand how the value of the pound can actually change? like, at the moment, the pound is worth less than the euro, making going on holiday expensive, whereas when the pound was worth more than the euro, it was cheaper? is it the stock markets that decide what the value is? and whoever it is that decides, why dont they just make the pound and the euro the same value .. Thankyouu x

  1. It's all to do with exchange rates & how strong certain currencies are against one another. I agree - if all currencies were worth 1 of everything, it'd make it FAR easier - eg £1 = $1 or €1, etc.
