which is the best site for a novice to learn basic conception about indian stock market?

I know only the defination abt stock market. but I want to trade. before that I need to learn about share market.pls anyone can tell me how is it possible. How to be a great trader?

1. There are various sites where you can register for free for practicing trading in stocks and shares. Sharebuilder is one of the foremost.Others could be sharekhan, etc.. Also you must participate in related Indian forums like Traderji etc which are very active.Forums are great resource always. For glossary purpose you can refer to investopedia etc.
2. The basic concepts of a stock market are the same - whether you trade in New York or Bombay or Hong Kong. Before you start trading, learn as much about the stock market as possible. Best is to read a few books by investment gurus. For a list of books I've found useful, please read one of my June 08 blog posts. A good web site for understanding stock market concepts is www.investopedia.com. It may be better to aspire to be a great investor rather than a great trader. Trading usually makes your broker rich!
