Has the Indian Stock Market hit the bottom ? Or will it go down further ? ?
The stock index has hit the low level of 8500 now as againt 20000 in Jan 08. Many small investors are worried about their investment made in Jan 08. Will the market go down further ? If so what is the advice to the small investors who have lost very heavily?

- Global markets are considered to be nearing bottom, but further falls are probable. Advice? Markets ALWAYS recover!
- No one could tell the excat bottom, but i think we are pretty much there, and if the retail investor are still there in the market then my suggestion would be to hang in there now, rather i would say if u have cash free and time of about 2 years then go out and buy at every fall. I time will come when people would be talking as to how cheap the stocks where then.
- We'll, everyone who has called the bottom to any market has been dead wrong. So based on that reasoning, I would say no. Markets always recover? Really? Russia's down 70%, and they are closed more often than they are open. Japan's Nikkei 225 has NEVER recovered from their 1989 high. "The Nikkei (225) average hit its all-time high on December 29, 1989 when it reached an intra-day high of 38,957.44" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikkei_225 Currently: Nikkei 225 is about 8,500 http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=^N225 Japan - the #2 economy in the world, sill has their own stock market down more than 30,000 points, even after 19 years. Oh, BTW, it was the over leveraged real estate market that crashed Japan's stock market. That could never happen again....
