When you do stock trading, online or the normal way do you have to use a broker who you talk to?
And what is the correct term for the person who helps you make investment decisions?

- I use a discount broker (Scottrade) so I have to do my own homework I simply go to the wipe site, buy and sell via the internet with no other humans involved A broker is paid to do your homework, etc
- Hello: When trading online, one never needs to talk to anyone. This is ok if you know what you want to trade and the process of how to place trades. By not talking with a broker you save on the commission. You can place trades for about $5 dollars at the lowest online. When you trade with a live stock broker it will cost more. For a full service broker, as an example, you will pay up to a few hundred dollars per trade for their advice. It all comes down to what you are looking for - advice or not. I hope this helps.
