Looking for the cheapest online brokerage firm?
I am looking for the cheapest online stock broker. I have all the tools I need for research so I am just looking for the cheapest overall for just regular stock trades. Any ideas?

- It depends upon your trading. For many people who trade fairly actively Interactive Brokers is the cheapest overall. http://www.interactivebrokers.com/ibg/main.php
- Scottrade has more tools than you... and you can use 'em all with even a small account... Good shoes make walking easier. ( got that out of a fortune cookie )
- Remember that the cheapest is not necessarily the best. A lot of deep discount brokerage firms are known to have hard to use websites and poor customer service. Some might even have hidden fees that make them look cheap. I currently use Firstrade http://www.firstrade.com/. They're slightly cheaper than Scottrade, and I find them to also be better feature-wise since they offer DRIPs while Scottrade doesn't.
