Investing in the Stock Market for the first time, is there a way of testing before investing?

I'm thinking of investing in the stock market. However before I start buying shares I want to see how good I am. Are there any web sites, or free applications I can download, so I can simulate buying and selling etc. In other words I want to see if my ideas are any good before I invest.

  1. Click on the link in the resource box below. It will take you to a web page that lists sites that allow you to simulate stock trading.
  2. You don't need a website or software to paper trade. Just set up a portfolio on Yahoo and see how your picks are doing. But remember one thing: you won't be testing yourself. The moment you put your money at risk, your attitude and mental state will change.
  3. Try http://www.top10traders.com Good luck !
  4. Yes, theres a new site started by Harvard students that pay you real money to beat the S&P and for writing analsysis. You start out with a million dollars. Not many people know about it yet. Good luck theupdown.com
