Public Comments

  1. What goes around comes around, if people have no extra money they can't go to dinner or shopping, so the stores will suffer. People need to keep the cycle going or everyone suffers. The reason the market dropped is because the Mortgage companies made bad loans to people that couldn't afford them, now you see the reason that wasn't good business.
  2. Example 1: If you are employed by Wal-Mart and they are making a ton of money then they will open more stores. If you are employed by Wal-Mart and they are losing a ton of money then they will close more stores. If they close the Wal-Mart in your city then you will be unemployed. Example 2: You have a $200,000.00 USD house and you want to sell it. Nobody has $200,000.00 USD in cash to buy a house (The millionaires won't buy your house) Most people invest in the stock market their savings before they actually buy a house. Let's pretend they already have all the papers with their bank and they have $40,000.00 USD in their portfolios and they will ask for a loan for the rest. The Stock Market drops 10% and they now have just $36,000.00 USD and they cannot buy your house anymore. They will be forced to buy a cheaper house. Everything is connected to the Stock Market.
  3. It directly affects those who own stocks or stock funds. They will reduce their spendings. A prolonged downturn of the stock market can result in economic slowdown which leads to job cuts. There must be economic factors triggering the prolong downturn of stocks.
