Indian stock market?
Is it a good time to enter the Indian stock market, considering that its been going down for the last 3 months? I was considering entering the market by buying HDFC bank, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid and Glenmark Pharma..

- We as retail investors can never time the market. Instead we can involve in systematic investmnet plan which would putting money in periodic intervals so that the ups and downs of the market are covered.

- Timing the market is always crucial. The Indian Stock Market does look quite tempting at the moment, as most of the stocks have shed 30-40% or even more than their all time high. But you should not forget the way stocks have gone southwards in last couple of weeks. And the way it is going it is not looking to end quite soon. As the saying goes "Never try catching a falling knife". So it would be better if you continue the waiting game, wait for the market to stabalize and then enter. The stocks you have mentioned are all good ones, and if you have long term perspective then you can enter at the current levels also. Power Grid is one of my favourites also, bound to give good returns in near future.
- ya market is very down but its not time to earn good profit,if u want to invest for 1 or more year then only its good time. my suggestion is just wait till jun after that ull get higher return :) add more stocks like Adlabs, Ispat, Petronet also
- yep... don't catch falling knife at this time ull get those stocks at very cheap in coming month
- One can never predict the best time to enter the market. But at this time many stocks are really cheaper and u can enter by buying the good stocks. HDFC bank is a good counter. u can go in . But ICICI Bank looks more attractive. Power grid can reach 114 - 120 in the near future. Glenmark is also a good long term stock. Bharti curretnly does not look so very good. Rel. comm looks good in this sector.
