what are calls and puts and how does it works in stock market?? are these safest way to play in stock market??

2. call are traded in derivatives ( calls prices will go up when the market goes up & puts prices will go up when the market comes down) buying the calls gives limited profit and selling the calls gives unlimited loss with limited profit.
