What do the points mean when stock market strengths & weaknessses are quoted?
e.g The Dow- Jones index at 13456, the Australian All ordinaries 6254 etc etc
Public Comments
- The points are a way of quantifying the performance of the underlying securities of each index. The best thing to do is focus on the percentage of each move rather then the number of points.
- point = A $dollar. or whatever the local currency is, London for example is 1 point = 1 british pound
