Stock Markets Exposed
okay experts....advice please?
i have a homework assignment in re investments. we are suppose to give a 5 min presentation of an investment in stock. i chose to invest in demensia meds or software (electronic health information - due to the new health care act that the president just signed). can you give me some ideas on either one of these 2 investments? like, a pharmacutical company that makes a specific demensia med and a little info on it. i could really use the help. any advice is appreciated. thank you!

- I know that Merck (MRK - trades on NYSE) does a lot of research into Dementia, as well as manufactures a number of medications used to treat this condition. Here's a table from their website that lists some of the specific medications -- http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmg/tables/40t3.jsp Unfortunately, I can't confirm that all of these medications are manufactured by Merck, but I think this might be a good start for you. - well you can start by talking about the difference between the two stock. pharmaceutical are defensive stock and they make money all year long. on the other hand, software companies are usually cyclical since they are some quarters in a year where business is good and sometimes not. pharmaceutical stock are more stable. software are more volatile and fluctuate more in prices.
