  1. Sorry dude but in order to trade in stocks you will need an DEMAT Account and you will need to pay the annual fee that the bank will be charging you. 2. there is a website you can go to and play with fake money first! I would suggest that for a while atleast until I got the hang of things! Stocks no joke and you can really lose big! Try this site.......
  3. If you are in the US, you can have a free account, that is there is no annual fee like you mentioned. However, there will be a small amount you pay as a transaction fee when you buy or sell your stocks. The transaction fee varies from as little as $4 to $30. My most favorite ones are Scottrade and TD-Ameritrade. They don't charge you any inactivity fee (that means, even if you don't trade for years, they don't charge you any extra fee). And their transaction fee is only $7 (at Scottrade) and $9.99 (at TD-Ameritrade) per transaction no matter how many shares you trade at each time. Check scottrade.com and ameritrade.com for more information. And of course, like Elizabeth mentioned here above, it is a good idea to play stock market with fake money first until you get some more ideas. Currently, CNBC is offering all US residents (18 years or older) with $1,000,000 CNBC bucks to play Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge. You don't have to pay a single penny to register. And if you are the winner, you actually will get a real cold hard cash of ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
