what online stock traders allow you to buy partial shares, with no minumiun account balance?
I am looking to start investing in the stock market, but my initial investment will be small(in the $25-$50/ month max range) with a $100 opener. I have set up an account with sharebuilder but before i transfer any funds I would like to see what else is out there. Any suggestions?

- Use Scottrade, sharebuilder charges 20 bucks for live trades. Scottrade is 7 bucks for all trades and requires only 500 dollar initial deposit. Just save up until you have 500.
- with Sharebuilder.com, you do not have to pay that 20 dollars cited in the answer above if you trade on Tuesdays only. On that day, you can trade for 4 dollars a trade. That said, ETrade.com has the best online banking and investing account called 'Complete'. It does require a 1000 dollar cash deposit, however.
- Those are small amounts of money you are talking about. In my opinion, it isn't worthwhile to "invest" in anything unless you have at least $1000 or $2000 otherwise your breakeven point is much much greater, and your profit won't be really impressive. I know you are looking to "invest" but have a look at "trading" too. With trading you can use leverage to make your money be exposed by 100:1 in some cases. Of course this introduces increased risks. have a look at FX markets, CFDs, options or warrants if you are interested. These "derivatives" allow you to buy "partial shares".
