How can I obtain pre-market and after hours market stock quotes without a delay? I am already aware of the stock quotes one can get from Yahoo.com, Google.com, nasdaq.com, etc. but they all have a 10 to 15 minute delay. The most important thing for me is to have the quote a close to real time as possible. I have Ameritrade and I can also make trades after hours. Ameritrade does not allow me to see quotes after hours. Does Fidelity have this feature? If I want to make a trade, I'd like to know what the current price is without the 15 minute delay.
Volume and Percentage Leaders Pre/ After market stock Quotes? I have level 2 on my Etrade Account and Live streaming on my Yahoo account, I can check any stock pre or after market if I type in the ticker for it. What I need to know is how to get a pre/after market live lists of the leaders/ losers in pre/after market hours without typing in the tickers. I want to know how to download an XML data feed of stock market data (including Level 2 quotes) at my request. I am looking for information on downloading level 2 quotes in XML format at my request. Does anyone know of a site that will allow me to do this at a cheap/reasonable/free price? I want to be able to send a request to the site/service for any given symbol and retrieve an XML file with current level 2 quotes. I can't seem to find any information on this so far. Ameritrade (my current account) only allows you to view information for one stock at any given time, and is based on a web page. I have not tried to figure out if I could rip the information from there or not (I'm sure I could), but it would be easier to do this on a request basis from a homegrown application. Any ideas?

How does a stock split show up in the market the following day? I have been thinking about this question recently, i hope someone can help me clear this up. When a stock "splits" i.e. its share price halves and quantity doubles, how does it appear in the stock market the following day, is the price quoted as half of original value, with a drop of 50% quoted, or is there a different system?

Why do stock prices fluctuate after the market closes? Once the stock market closes, some stocks continue to gain or lose, sometimes more drastically than during the trading day. Their quote shows "afterhours". What is this? I heard analysts talking about electronic trading. What is that?
Stock market help, simple question about trading stocks...? Okay, I'm sort of new to trading stocks, but now quite. I currently trade through Sharebuilder, even though I'm beginning to not like them so much. A lot of "fine print", if you know what I mean. Anyways, here's my problem: I bought a stock, 5,000 shares at .09 cents. I meant to buy at .05 cents, and that's what my confirmation said before I placed the order, but I didn't realize that the quote of the stocks are 20 mins delayed. Sharebuilder doesn't offer actual real-time quotes, imagine that. Anyways, my account ended up a couple of hundred dollars short, mainly because it still processed as 5,000 shares at $0.09. Anyways, I put a limit order in to sell all of the shares when they hit $.010, low and behold, it hit 0.10 today, but my shares haven't been sold. Called SB, and they said for large orders, it could take a couple of days over a few different trades, and that I would be charged $11.95 for each trade. Is there a better place or way to do these types of trades? Thanks!

do i buy a core 2 duo or a core duo laptop? im buying a laptop and i dont know all these terms i am getting hardsell from one vendor that a core duo 1.86 ( lenovo ) is just about the same perfomance ( and cheaper ) than a core 2 duo 1.66. the other guy says that the core 2 duo 1.66 ( same lenovo ) will give much much better perfomance Now - i need my laptop for fast surfing, ie streamline stock market quotes, simultanuos music downloads, and simultaneously opening another 5-7 windos for more surfing . secondly, Note both laptops have a 1 gb ram, should i upgrade to 2 gb or will a 1gb do the above jobs satisfactorily. I know this is all subjective, but i would be glad if i get some advice
