Penny stock investing...is this a good idea? First, a quick background. I'm a college student and my knowledge of investing in stocks is limited to the few economics and finance courses I have taken. Anyway, I have about $7,000 just sitting in a savings account which I have been accumulating since I was a teenager (I practically save all my money). I have no need for that much liquidity (my parents pay my tuition and for my car and tell me not to get a job while in college because it'll mess with my academic performance) and wanted to see if the following is a feasible idea, or if I'm just a moron. I follow a lot of different stocks, some obscure ones. But anyway what if I were to, for example on a whim, buy about 100,000 shares of green gold ray energies stock (GRYE) for $0.05 a share for $5,000 total. Hold onto it for a year and some change to avoid the short term capital gains tax, and sell all my shares at some point in the future when the stock price is significantly higher, say $0.50 or more. I know the point of investing is to diversify, "stay in it for the long run", etc... But would this be a decent idea? Keep in mind, I have no need for all $7,000 of my money at this point in time, and probably won't until I graduate in about 2 years. I suppose I could start saving for retirement now, or do many more intelligent things with my money...but I just want to know if this would work!
I have a question about investing in a penny stock ? There is a company called Nutracea that is currently trading at 1.75. There website is www. nutracea.com . From my understanding they patent-protected processing and stabilizing rice brand technology is suppose to preserve rice. They are building plants all over the world and have signed with major rice companies to save the wasted rice that we throw away. I got a tip from a client that this stock will explode . This was 3 months ago and the stock is at 1.75 and has actually dropped. Can someone out there tell me what I should do. Yeah the high OS is a drawback but if the company is growing fast like they are, a reverse split will take care of the share problem later on. Maybe im just good at spotting the next big company and others just don't see it. In 2007 I think GamezNflix will be mentioned on CNBC. Lets see if im right.

Penny Stock Information.? What I know is that penny stocks are a gamble, there is a lot of scams involving them like pump and drop, and people don't tend to like them. I'm not going to get involved in emails telling me to buy this and that. I only want to invest 50 bucks and penny stocks seem to fit what I want. That being said I would like to ask some questions. Lets say I buy a penny stock at 1 penny a share and it goes up to like 50 cents. I used 40 bucks worth of money to buy them on an online trading site. ok now I want to sell it at 50 cents a share. How hard would it be to sell the stock? On maor stocks people say its almost instant and they usually find buyers right away. But what if you sell your penny stocks, will you be stuck with it or is it relatively easy to sell when you want? Or you buy a penny share, it goes up 50 cents or a dallor and then you try and sell it and no one buys it and your stuck with it ?

Question about penny stocks? I have a theory about penny stocks and I wanted to see what you all think about it. Suppose I had $2000 and I bought and held $100 worth of 20 differnt penny stocks. Are chances on my side that I would get at least one or more stocks that are 10 baggers or more? I know penny stocks are risky, but if I just buy and hold, there's got to be at least one out there that should make me quite a bit of money over time as it possibly grows and splits. The only reason I am considering this option is because I am not rich and I don't have much leverage. Penny stocks offer an incredible amount of leverage. If you buy a stock for $0.01 and it goes up to $0.02 you just doubled your investment! Think about what happens if it goes up to $10.00! It does happen! I've seen it and always wished I was in on that action.
