What is the best stock trading system testing software? Is there any such software where I can backtest different variables with historical data? I know tradestation does it, but I just want the software right now, not a broker. Anyone know of anything?
Is it time we make the SEC remove all options trading and shorting from the stock trading system in the US? Let's get real, it, having been used by Hedge Funds and large conglomerate CEOs and other inside officers has enticed too much corruption and is sucking the US Dollar value dry! What operating system does stock trading work on best? I have noticed that Windows on my laptop operates with constant attacks and you read about viruses constantly and malware etc on Windows. There are times when software shuts down or is inaccessible. That doesn't work for trading strategies, because if you cannot respond to the market, you are done, cooked. '

What is your trading system to select the best stocks? This is my system: 1 - I look at the Zacks Rank and check some of the #1 stocks; 2 - I do some fundamental and technical analysis. I look at the 50 day/200 day moving averages, the ADX, the MACD and the CCI. The 50-day MA has to be above the 200-day MA. The ADX has to be above 30. The MACD has to be above its 9-day EMA. The CCI (20) has to be above 100. 3 - Then I check some news on ths stock and on the sector. What is your system? Give as many details as possible.

Do automated trading systems trade one stock/instrument or many? For example, I remember one person telling me that their trading system only traded a certain currency pair, and another telling me that theirs only traded an S&P 500 ETF. My question is: Can a trading system be programmed to trade many different stocks/instruments? For example, could it screen its conditions on all stocks in the Nasdaq 100 rather just focusing on one? Who sets the stock price each day? Is it a person or an automated system? I know a stock price is determined by supply and demand, but what I am actually asking is: Who monitors the supply and demand then sets the price accordingly? Is it done automatically by a computer system at the stock exchange market, or is there a person who monitors the daily action and then modifies the stock price manually during the day according to that? And if the stock price is modified each day by a person, does this person work directly for the company who issued the stock, or for the stock exchange who trades it? Also what about the bid/ask prices? Are they set by an automated system or by a person?

Can someone explain the point system below a dollar in the stock market? Hello, I'm reading an ebook on penny stock trading & having trouble understanding how to understand the "points" in regards to where it stands in relation to the dollar. What is the purpose of the settlement date in online stock trading? If I bought 1000 of stock XYZ for the $1000 total in my account on Monday and sold the same amount on Monday (now with a total of $1100 in my account), why do I have to wait until Thursday to be able to buy again with the $1100 in my account? Shouldn't I be able to buy and sell and buy again all on Monday? Is there a way around this system without just adding more money to the account?

Has there ever been an economic system in which all citizens owned equal stock of corporations? I am not talking about a system in which the government owns corporations and distributes the earning equally, I am talking about the people themselves, all privately owning equal amounts of stock of corporations (legally unable to trade the stock however, because it would result in unequal ownership of stock). To Rik V: I did not mention "ownership of everything", I was talking about ownership of stock. There was no stock market back in the days of the pilgrams so it could not have been a "complete failure". You are confusing two completey different things. Owning stock is not at all the same as doing labor. Your analogy might make sense if we were idiscussing what would happen is a town decided to pay all workers the same price for unequal types of work, not about the stock market. Sorry, try again.

Why do we even have a world stock exchange/floor traiding system that affects the price of things like oil? Milk is a natural product but we don't have what, from where I see it, is a pointless tier of city people determining its eventual consumer price. A farmer sells directly or to a reseller and that's it - deal done. Where and why did the stock market system come about, who determines what is traded and what isn't. Why don't we campaign to abolish it and let the likes of oil companies sell directly with no commodity exchange controlled prices influencing what we pay. This system is hugely open to abuse, as we see now. Why are traders some of the best paid people in society when they produce nothing, or provide any real service to society, just speculate with these abstract mechanisms. This is a genuine question, I'm not being rhetorical. It seems an institution/system that nobody questions while all attention is directed at, in the current case, the Shells BPs of this world. I just wonder whey the media and the greater society don't take it one step further in what we question.

Where can I find a fairly user friendly stock trading site? I have tried Etrade and it just doesn't work well at all. Under the symbol search window I typed the letter f and clicked the option for "the words starts with" and it cam up with a an empty list, well I know that ford starts with an f so at least ford should have come on the list, but there was nothing, so i called customer service and they didn't know what do to either. Regarding Day Trading and Forex? Background: Fundamentals, with an investing strategy out of the Graham playbook (by distressed, unloved or otherwise underpriced securities). Risk is minimized by having a margin of safety, higher upside than down, and by buying into companies that can be understood and predicted down the line. However, finding a good opportunity tends to leave at least some cash floating around. Aside from dumping it into a placeholder stock like BRK.B, moneymarket, etc. I am interested in utilizing, to some small degree, daytrading. Basically: (1) How is risk managed in security day trading? Forex trading? (2) Do the few successful traders operate by intuition or determinism? (3) How wide of a scope to most traders take? Active stock traders: Do you trade stocks that are in your long term portfolio? It seems that the stocks in your long term portfolios would be the ones that you have the most confidence in their fundamentals and so on, but also increases your vulnerability and mindset. For example, if I spot a short term death sentence in stock trends for a stock I still have confidence in long term, I could be shorting a stock that I also own! On the other hand, if I follow my instincts, I will constantly buy and sell those stocks in my long term portfolio, and end up turning it into a second trading portfolio, which isn't good for anyone. Multiple Monitors? I need a Multi-Screen Trading Computer for my Business. Where can I get one? I'm very interested in buying a Multiple Monitor Computer System, for my Day Trading Business. I use Several Stock and Forex Trading Programs, but I'm tired of using four different computers. All these day traders, on the ifomercials and on Wall Street, seem to have these Multi-Monitor PCs, with only one mouse and keyboard. Where can you get something affordable, like that? M i selfish/free rider? June 2003, I just begun my MBA (FAST; Financial analysis and trading system) class. This is an internet based virtual market where student join for trade stock, derivative and other financial instrument. Before join the class, every student need to submit for their pre trading strategy to the teacher. I always help a female student for prepare her pre- trading strategy (which usually done by male student for female student), assignment, report preparing and even making power point slide. One day I ask her to help me about a class assignment. She reply me, I m a selfish, free rider and so on. In that moment I was too socked and cant reply/answer her comment. Still I burn her comment. Now I want to ask, really I am a free rider??? Note, she was just my classmate and I had no plan to offer/bother her for anything like love or dinner or date.

Is there any Trading systems model in stock or forex or commodities trading which contains a Portfolio of stocks or index or forex currencies and choose the right stock or currency for right time. i.e., Play only a single or two stock or currency at a given time choosing among the portfolio you choose and dynmically changing the portfolio depening on the market conditions. NORMALLY IN STOCK SYSTEM DESIGN, THEY FOLLOW ONLY A SINGLE STOCK OR CURRENCY . INSTEAD OF THAT METHOD, I WANT TO KNOW IS THERE ANY SYTEM OR METHOD AS I MENTIONED ABOVE WITH MULTIPLE STOCKS or currency etc., following but playing only one or 2 items only at a given time DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION of the markets. Is there any system avilable for sale in the market as I mentioned above?

Does Sabre (Global Distribution System) process more transactions per second than the NYSE? I'm trying to explain to a banker that GDSs are BIG league transaction processing. Sabre's functions are obviously richer than simple stock trades, but in absolute terms does a GDS process more transactions per second? I've used Sabre as the example GDS because I think it is the biggest but Amadeus would also do; similarly is there a SE bigger than NYSE?

Where Do I Get A Realtime Stock Analysis Software?? In China, there're quite some real time stock softwares. Basically they're the same thing. Offer real time quotes, info, charts, VERY detailed technichal analysis.... People can browse,anaylysis and trade with this software.... Is there such a software in America? I'm a Chinese and would like to get familiar with American stock market from now on. So if there's such a software it'd be of great importance to me. Any stock guru can guide me through this???and how do Americans do stock investment? Do you have a broker do it for you or you do it yourself? In China we just go open an accountant in a securities company and then trade via the company's system, which get us directly connected to SSE(Shanghai Stock Exchange) or SZSE(Shenzhen Stock Exchange), so in China most investors do the investment all by themselves, There're stock brokers too but they mainly work for companies , not individuals.
